What matters?

What is symbolic and meaningful at the end of a team coaching relationship? By developing an understanding of what really matters to us as practitioners and what is figurative in our coaching relationship, we move our attention beyond definitions, coaching outcomes, and effectiveness to focus on our purpose and what we are trying to achieve in our work.

Course overview and details

Our session into a much-overlooked juncture in team coaching will draw upon both academic research and current practice—from the perspective of an active team coach practitioner and supervisor. We’ll reference the chapter on endings in Relational Team Coaching (de Haan and Stoffels, 2023). You’ll also have the opportunity to experiment and explore endings in team coaching. There will be time for both reflective practice and peer coaching.

By the end of this session, you’ll have gained insights into fellow coaches’ experiences in endings, how they approach them and how this informs their purpose. You’ll also consider how you bring about endings, and what you might do differently in the future.
