This is an inquiry-based Master's Degree designed for experienced coaches and consultants who want to go deeper into their coaching practice and explore our relational coaching approach.
Participants can choose to explore an executive coaching or team coaching Masters inquiry, and be awarded a Master's in Executive Coaching or a Master's in Team Coaching.

The Master’s year of your coaching qualification is an Inquiry into the Coaching Profession. It involves reflecting on your own practice while you continue to develop your coaching style.
The first module consists of four taught workshops of three days in duration. In these workshops you will reflect on your professional practice as coaches in four key areas: the coach, the coachee, the coaching relationship and the organisation context.
The Coach and Their Perceptual System
In this workshop, a deeper inquiry will take place into the role of the coach
in the coaching relationship: the perceptual system of the coach, which aspects of
the coach influence outcome, and how the perception of the coach by the
coachee and sponsors affects outcome.
The Coachee and the Significance of Emotions
In this workshop, a deeper inquiry will take place into the role of the
coachee in the coaching relationship: the self-regulatory system of the
coachee, how emotions and thinking affect the outcome of coaching, and
how life stages or specific requirements affect boundaries and assessment
within the coaching relationship.
The Coaching Relationship and the 'In Between'
In this workshop a deeper inquiry will take place into the role of the
relationship itself in the coaching relationship: the particular dynamics
encountered, transference from other aspects of life of coachee and coach,
and the co-creation of ‘now-moments’ or ‘moments-of-meeting’ which seem
to have a high impact on the outcome of the coaching relationship.
Working with the Organization Through Coaching
In this workshop a deeper inquiry will take place into the role of the
organisations (both of the client, client team and in some instances those of
the coach) in the coaching relationship: the organisational dynamics
encountered transference from other aspects of business life, readiness of
organisations and context to engage in particular forms of coaching and to
achieve a high outcome.
The final part of the module consists of a reflective inquiry, broadly equivalent to a Masters level project.
It takes the form of an extensive written case study inquiring into one or more client relations in which you are required to undertake an inquiry both into yourself as a professional coach and your work with a number of specific clients over the course of the 2nd year of the program.
You are required to place yourself at the centre of the process of reflective inquiry into your work. Each participant will be assisted in this process by receiving coaching support from another member of the participant group and being a regular participant in a coaching supervision group.
Participants, with the support of Faculty, will be required to design and undertake this reflective inquiry over the course of the program.

Master's in Executive Coaching
At Ashridge we see coaching as a relational practice. While we take it as read that serving our clients is the primary task of a coaching relationship, we have a particular perspective on the nature of this relationship. We take the view that the relationship between coach and client is at the heart of effective coaching and is, therefore, the central vehicle for learning and change. We see this as a mutual and co-creating relationship rather than a remedial contract to solve a problem.

Entry requirements
An undergraduate or master's degree, or equivalent academic award, or if you are a mature individual without an academic qualification, evidence of appropriate conceptual and study skills
Minimum of three years' experience in a coaching or consulting position including roles offering mentoring and the development of others in their professional remit
Proficiency in English
